Adventures

Our three youngest are away for the weekend.  It's just me, Mike and our college girl at home.  We've been busy doing things the other three wouldn't like doing.

Yesterday we went to a nursery and bought some veggies.   We got flowers from another store.

{Pepper, Geraniums and Creeping Jenny}

{Rosemary, Oregano and hopefully Basil}

We had a delicious lunch at Great Harvest Bread, then stopped at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.  We bought cupboard doors ($1 a piece) that we hope to turn into a headboard.  We worked in the yard planting the flowers and veggies while college girl experimented in the kitchen and made some yummy bread.

Today we went to some yard sales.  We found rain boots for one daughter, yarn for college girl, a glider and Legos for Little Man.  We "ran in" Costco (Can you ever just run in??  Is it ever NOT crowded on a Saturday?) and got our fill of free samples.  We actually came out with money left over!

{Mike and college girl hard at work finding all the right Lego pieces.  A $35 bin of Legos worth well over $100.  Yard sale SCORE!}

Another favorite yard sale was the one with all the plants!

{Purple Cone Flower, Sedum & Shasta Daisies for the front yard.}

We did more yard work.  We're enjoying what seems to be the last of the cool weather for a while.  Hopefully tomorrow morning we'll have the back flowerbed ready for mulch so we can get that done before the heat kicks in.  This guy can't wait.

For dinner we tried an asparagus quiche with a spaghetti squash crust.  The other kids would NEVER have tried it.  It was an adventure, but SO good!

Tomorrow we will wake up to new adventures.  Monday the kids come home and we'll celebrate Little Man's 13th birthday!!!  I can't wait!

  2. I love the idea of spaghetti squash crust. I just tried a recipe for a quinoa crust. It was pretty good but definitely needed more flavor before baking!

    It looks like an amazing time. You did all the things I love best.

    Thanks for letting me tag along for the letter A.

    A+
